The R Charity

We are the charity for the Royal Liverpool & Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

We raise funds and help to support all our Liverpool sites at The Royal, Aintree and Broadgreen Hospitals.

Every penny that we raise through fundraising initiatives contributes to the health & wellbeing of our patients, their families and our staff across.

Who we are:

The R Charity raises funds to enable the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Royal) to provide the best possible health care to our patients from Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

We want to make sure that care in the Royal is the very best by ensuring:

  • our doctors and nurses have the latest state-of-the-art equipment to achieve the best possible outcomes for patients
  • we have an environment that gives the best experience for patients and families anywhere in the NHS

Leadership Through Sport

Leadership through Sport [LTS]is a charity designed to inspire and educate up to 20 young adults in each of both Liverpool and North London.

Through a combination of sports and leadership coaching from Everton and Tottenham Hotspur and business oriented academics from local colleges the one year programme intends to produce ambassadors and leaders from and for the local communities.

In addition the young adults will spend time during the programme in their local communities assisting schools and clubs with their own football programmes and mentoring younger children during and beyond the course’s time frames.

LTS is very grateful to the Liverpool International tennis tournament and Anders Borg for including their new charity in this prestigious tennis event. The charity applauds the goal of Liverpool International with its own extensive programmes for children which it has carried out for many years.

Leadership through Sport intends to complete the two programmes mentioned above in 2012/13 and then extend and expand its efforts to other parts of the UK and beyond thereafter.

Claire House

Claire House is a local children’s hospice with a big heart.

There are an estimated 49,000 children living in the UK that have a condition that means they are not expected to outlive their parents: an unimaginable thought for anyone.  Claire House Children’s Hospice exists to ensure those children who fall within our footprint in the North West get the support, love and care they need and deserve.

Every day at Claire House tells a story; the first time a family could play together in a pool, a peaceful night’s sleep for a busy mum or it may be the last time a family spends time with each other.   Our community and events like the Liverpool Tennis Tournament allows Claire House to create these precious stories, ensuring that families’ journeys are filled with memories, no matter how long that journey may be.

Community Link Foundation

At Community Link Foundation we have a passion for supporting the people and organisations within our community and invest in the people who live in it so that we can be proud of where we live. Whether you’re a parent with a child requiring assistance as part of an on-going illness or a sports team in need of new equipment to benefit local people or a community group that needs financial support for supplies, Community Link Foundation can help those who need it most. We provide financial donations to the people who need our help in our community.

Our donations are paid out of money we have raised through fundraising events and our 600 Club Lottery. We do not receive any money from the Government.

We also work with local businesses, individuals and organisations and enable them to invest in our community, this means that they can make a positive difference to local issues and causes in our area and enable us to ensure that the needs of the community are met.

We ensure that our funds are well managed and donations go to those who need it most. We are very proud that we have been able to provide a number of donations to individuals, charitable organisations and community projects, reaching young and old alike.

With your help and support, we can continue to make a positive difference to the people in our community.
