Northern Vision has scooped a prestigious 2010 Downtown Liverpool In Business (DLIB) Award for their Calderstones Park event, the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament.
Beating off stiff competition from their local rivals in the ‘Lifestyle’ category, founder and director Anders Borg was present to collect the award following the most successful tournament to date.
He said: “We’re already pushing on with our events in 2011 but it’s great to look back at what we achieved in the last 12 months. This accolade is testament to the team around me and their fantastic efforts to get us where we are today.”
The news comes soon after Northern Vision was nominated for the prestigious International Sports Event Management Awards Shortlist for 2010 in London, earlier this month.
The Tournament has now joined the Grand National in becoming the two most popular and sought after tickets in the corporate calendar.
Its popularity in recent years has seen the tournament become a permanent fixture in Manchester, Nottingham, Marbella and Oslo from where Mr. Borg hails.
He added: “We’ve grown from humble beginnings and support in 2002 and are now close to securing some impressive sponsorship deals in the corporate market, especially within Liverpool, such has been the demand for sector champions to associate with us.
“I’m also pleased to report on healthy ticket sales for hospitality next year and hope to be able to reveal some exciting news on the line-up of players for 2011 following our coup in getting John McEnroe to play in the city in 2010.”
