Kenyon Fraser, Liverpool’s largest and longest established marketing communications agency, has been appointed to handle marketing and PR services for Northern Vision’s Liverpool International Tennis Tournament 2012. The agency will support Northern Vision in the run up to next summer’s tournament which will be hosted at Calderstones Park from 21 – 25 June.
The Liverpool International Tennis Tournament, now in its tenth year, is one of Merseyside’s most popular annual sporting events, drawing over 20,000 spectators each year from all over the UK. It is also one of the region’s largest annual sporting events, second only to Aintree’s Grand National in terms of the revenue it attracts through corporate hospitality and inward investment, and has helped more than 50,000 young people to take up the sport through local community initiatives since it began.Tournament Director, Anders Borg says “Each year we are joined by some of the world’s biggest tennis and rising stars who use the tournament as a warm up event for Wimbledon – but 2012 will be our biggest and most important year yet, with many of our athletes going on to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games.“The Olympics will undoubtedly create increased interest in sports next year, and we really want to help ensure that the Olympics do not just become a London-centric event and that people from all over the UK are able to fully embrace ‘Olympic Fever’ at events that are affordable and in their local area.
