Liverpool BID Company has announced it is to become one of the Presenting Sponsors of the Liverpool Hope University International Tennis Tournament, for the second year running.
The BID Company, which represents 1,200 businesses, was established in 2005 to maintain Liverpool city centre’s position as a retail, leisure and commercial destination of choice. It believes that the Liverpool Cricket Club event is a key driver for the summer visitor economy and gives businesses in the region a unique platform to network.
“The BID Company is delighted to join forces again with the Liverpool Hope University International Tennis Tournament,” said BID chief executive Bill Addy.
“It is a truly unique event and one which consistently attracts high-profile stars. For the business community it offers a wonderful opportunity to generate exposure and network and last year we introduced 150 businesses to the event.
“The tournament also provides a boost for our visitor economy and we want to help businesses support the tournament and maximise the benefit it brings to the region.”
As part of the deal there a series of mini-tennis events will be held at Williamson Square and at Exchange Flags for businesses and the public to participate in.
Tournament organiser Anders Borg said the BID Company’s support was a major boost.
“The BID Company is such an important part of the commercial landscape in Liverpool,” he said. “To put on events like the tennis tournament we need the support of the business community. If we have that then the rewards are there for them in return.
The Liverpool Hope University International Tennis Tournament takes place at Liverpool Cricket Club in Aigburth from June 16th to 19th of June.
