Day 4 2018 – Giannessi & Dentoni Win Liverpool International 2018 Singles Titles

June 24, 2018

The flamboyant Italian, 28, played an incredible week of tennis completing a clean sweep at the 2018 Liverpool International beating Robert Kendrick in the final round 7-6, 7-6. The Italian will take much confidence from his convincing win over up-and-coming Swedish star Elias Ymer serving as great practice as he heads to London for next week’s Wimbledon Qualification tournament.
Kendrick showed fortitude throughout the match (when he wasn’t otherwise getting distracted by the lively Liverpool crowd) and was unlucky not to force it into a decider.

Corinna Dentoni wins Liverpool International 2018 Ladies Singles Title

Dentoni sensationally battled her way through to win all three of her matches this week against an extremely strong field that included former world no. 2 Vera Zvonareva.
Sadly, Marion Bartoli was forced to withdraw from her scheduled singles match today due to a reoccurrence of the shoulder injury that cancelled her announced comeback earlier this year.
Local qualifier Ellie Tsimbilakis stepped in at the last minute to give Dentoni one final challenge of the week, however Dentoni once again proved too strong dropping just two games throughout the match.
